Red Google Nexus 5 Press-shot Surfaces Online Ahead of Launch

A snapshot of the rumoured Red Google Nexus 5 has once again surfaced online, sparking excitement among fans.

Popular twitter sensation, @evleaks has released a purported press image of the crimson colored Nexus 5. In the image, we can see the horizontal Nexus logo embellishment on the rear side with the manufacturing details (including LG name and logo) at the bottom. The picture looks strikingly similar to the original Nexus 5 posted on the Google Play store, sans the red color. The company currently sells white and black models. We have seen series of leaked images and videos of the alleged crimson colored Nexus 5 over last few weeks but most of them have turned out be fake. But, the press-shot posted by evleaks seems believable as he has maintained a pretty good track record in leaking device specs and images before they hit the market.

Google's recently revealed fourth quarter (2013) revenue details showed good sales of Nexus 5 units since its launch on 31 October, 2013, along with the 'Chromecast' (a pen-drive shaped digital media player), reported The Verge. This is another reason to believe that the search engine giant, in it's bid to continue momemtum might release a new Nexus color variant.

The new revelation comes just days after the American network carrier Sprint's internal document was leaked on the internet, revealing the launch details. According to the memo, the rumored red Nexus 5 is said to debut in USA on 4 February via Google Play store.

Though the rumored red Nexus 5 news has gone viral in the media, neither Google nor LG have come forward to comment on these reports.
