Micromax Yu Yureka is selling like hot cakes through flash sale as far as media reports are concerned but it could end up like Xiaomi Redmi Note device after a few weeks.

Flash sale has reportedly worked for Micromax Yu Yureka, selling thousands of units since it was up for sale on Amazon but the company could be forced to give up this marketing strategy at one point of time. The device was up for sale again on Thursday but figures are not out yet.

It may be recalled that Xiaomi started flash sale in India through its devices Redmi 1s and Redmi Note last year, making brisk business for a while but hype died down after a couple of months. The company eventually gave up flash sale and made them available on Flipkart. Interestingly, its Redmi Note 4G is made available online for grabs without resorting to flash sale.

According to reports, 15,000 units of Micromax Yu Yureka got sold out in record four seconds in its first Flash Sale 1.0 in January, 15,000 units sold out in five seconds in Flash Sale 2.0, 10,000 units in three seconds in Flash Sale 3.0, 15,000 units in four seconds in Flash Sale 4.0, 25,000 units in four seconds in Flash Sale 5.0, 15,000 units in four seconds in the sixth flash sale, 30,000 units were sold off in six seconds in Flash Sale 7.0, and another 30,000 units in seven seconds in the latest flash sale.

However, Amazon could soon give up flash sale for the Micromax Yu Yureka like the Xiaomi Redmi Note and Redmi 1S when its demand falls. The release of devices like Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, Redmi 2, Lenovo A6000, Moto E 2nd Generation etc could fringe Yureka's share in the market.

It may be mentioned that Micromax Yu Yureka sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS screen with 720x1280 pixels (267 ppi pixel density) and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocking at 1.7GHz, and run on CyanogenMod Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

Priced at ₹8,999, the device comes packed with 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 32GB) and 2GB DDR3 RAM, 2500 mAh (Lithium-Polymer), and 13MP main camera with f/2.2 aperture, 75.4 degree wide-angle, full HD (1080p) resolution recording and 5MP front camera with 71-degree angle lens.
