We haven't heard the last on Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin's divorce. The reality stars, who confirmed their decision to split in May this year, have since taken to Twitter and have spewed vitriol against their estranged partner. If Marroquin attacked his estranged wife's changed appearance after plastic surgery, then the mother of two has spoken of his shortcomings.
However, in a new update, Lowry cleared the air about the numerous allegations made by Marroquin and revealed the real reason that drove a wedge between them. In a recent blog post, the "Teen Mom 2" star said her marriage with Marroquin didn't work out simply because things weren't great for a long time.
"What happened? I woke up. I decided my boys deserved to see their mom happy and witness a relationship based on love, not tolerance," she said.
Fans of the MTV reality TV series will remember that Lowry and Marroquin struggled with her miscarriage. In one episode of "Teen Mom 2" Season 7, Marroquin even apologised for not being a source of support and strength for Lowry. However, she said that her miscarriage only added to the problems in her marriage and wasn't in any way a catalyst.
Lowry revealed that she filed for divorce in December last year and added that the estranged couple has been seeing other people since then. In her words, the split from the U.S. armed forced personnel was one of the most difficult experiences of her life.
"Were there times we contemplated getting back together? Hell yes. I wanted to keep my family together," she claimed.
Earlier, Marroquin, who recently returned from his military assignment said he decided to divorce Lowry after she altered her appearance that resulted from plastic surgery. In an interview with Radar Online, he said that he wasn't supportive of her decision to undergo a procedure for a Brazilian butt lift and a tummy tuck.
"I was more shocked at who she's becoming. In the back of my mind, I was also worried of who you're going to be. Are you going to be the same person I fell in love with? Or is this going to change you?" he added.
Lowry and Marroquin married in September 2012 and decided to go their separate ways after three years of marriage. Lowry found fame through MTV's "16 & Pregnant" in 2010 and has since appeared on its spin-off, "Teen Mom 2."
