Real Madrid will take on Inter Milan on Saturday, 10 August in a pre-season friendly that will take place at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Missouri.

Both teams recently took part in the International Champions Cup held across the United States. Carlo Ancelotti's team eventually won the tournament, defeating Chelsea in the final.

Real Madrid:

Cristiano Ronaldo underlined his importance to the team with two crucial goals in the final, which Madrid won 3-1.

The Italian manager was full of praise for his star player.

"Cristiano is an example for the youth," Ancelotti told Real Madrid's official website.

"He has everything a football player needs to be great," he continued. "And he is great, a really fantastic football player. He's an example for the young players on the team."

Under Ancelotti, Madrid's pre-season results have been exemplary. They won all three of their games in the International Champions Cup and defeated Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais in their other games.

Inter Milan:

Under new coach Walter Mazzarri, who led Napoli to a second place finish in Serie A last season, Inter Milan will be hoping to improve their poor results from last season. The Milan team finished ninth in the table, failing to qualify for any European competition.

The early signs have been reasonably promising for Inter fans. Although they finished seventh in the International Champions Cup, losing to Chelsea and Valencia, Mazzarri's team were able to beat last season's Serie A champions Juventus in the seventh and eighth place play-off. Before the tournament, Inter drew with Hamburger SV. They beat Vicenza 3-1 in their first friendly fixture of the summer.

Striker Diego Milito believes that Inter are on the rise once again.

"We're working very well and the team is on the up. We lacked a bit of flair in the early matches but that's natural in pre-season. We've definitely moved forward from a tactical perspective though," Milito told Inter's official website.

"We'll go far, as high up the table as possible," he added. "I'm confident, when you play for Inter you always need to aim for the top."

Where to Watch

Kick-off is at 11:30pm IST (Saturday, 10 August).
