New Delhi, Feb 1 (ANI): Days ahead of the Delhi Polls, the Centre is reportedly deciding upon setting up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe those cases which were closed by the police and did not reach courts. While the Congress and the AAP raised doubts over the timing of such revelations by the BJP government, the SAD welcomed the decision. According to reports, government-appointed committee has recommended constitution of a SIT for re-investigation of the 1984 anti-Sikh riot cases. The committee headed by former Supreme Court Judge Justice (retd) GP Mathur has submitted its report to Home Minister Rajnath Singh last week and recommended fresh probe of the anti-Sikh riot cases through a Special Investigation Team, official sources said.
