Virat Kohli explains how RCB's IPL 2026 triumph is different from the 2025 title win

Virat Kohli stayed unbeaten on 75 to ensure RCB lifted their second title in two years with a five-wicket win over Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 final. After the win, Kohli revealed how this title felt different from the one in 2025.

"We've had to wait for so long and then just to have a group of guys where you feel like you're stepping onto the ground, you don't need to be the one to step up every time."

Kohli praised the depth and balance in the squad.

"These guys are behind you and around you, who can win games of cricket for you. We have so many Man of the Match awards spread throughout the group as well."

He also highlighted the contributions of bowlers including Josh Hazlewood, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jacob Duffy, Krunal Pandya and Rasikh Salam.

According to Kohli, the current RCB side possesses both balance and strength.

"I feel so happy to play in a group where we have balance, we have strength, and we are an all-around strong team."

He added that the pressure in the 2026 final felt very different.

"I said to a few of the boys that it doesn't feel like the same pressure as last year. We knew what kind of ability we have in the group."

Kohli credited the team's confidence, maturity and composure for helping them top the league stage and produce a clinical campaign.

He also admitted that RCB faced a tricky phase after the mid-season break but a close win over Mumbai Indians helped restore belief within the squad.

Virat-Anushka moments win hearts

While the Gujarat Titans fought hard, Virat's power-packed innings ensured RCB remained firmly in control.

Several post-match moments featuring Kohli went viral. From blowing flying kisses to Anushka Sharma from the field to holding her hand in a picture-perfect moment after the win and embracing her during the celebrations, Kohli wore his emotions on his sleeve.

From jumping in joy to playfully lifting his bat and looking up at the sky, Kohli did it all.
