The Kodava tradition originates from the Kodava community of the Kodagu district, popularly known as Coorg. Unlike many mainstream Hindu weddings, Kodava nuptials are deeply rooted in clan traditions, ancestral reverence, and a cultural identity shaped by their warrior heritage. The Kodavas are historically known for their martial lineage and distinctive customs, which are reflected in their wedding rituals.
One of the most notable differences is that Kodava weddings do not revolve around the sacred fire (Agni) or traditional pheras led by priests. Instead, the ceremony is simple, intimate, and largely conducted by respected family elders.
The wedding took place in Udaipur, and on the same day, the couple shared breathtaking pictures filled with love, laughter, and joy. Two days after their wedding, a new set of photos from Rashmika and Vijay's nuptial vows surfaced on social media.
The wedding was conceptualised around a Periodic Era theme, a meaningful homage to India's rich cultural heritage. In the unseen photos, Rashmika sat in a doli, smiling at the camera and forming a heart with her hands. Vijay made a grand entrance on horseback, like a king, for the wedding.
Inside the mandap, the natural beauty of the property shone through. Earthy hues dominated the colour palette, with terracotta elements thoughtfully woven into the design. According to the décor designer, every structure, floral accent, and ceremonial corner was crafted with intention. Vijay's preference for terracotta detailing was reflected across the décor, while his mother's wish to incorporate sacred mantras on the Adduthera was seamlessly included, making the celebration deeply personal.
