Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has reportedly roped in Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh for a third time. The "Bajirao Mastani" director's next, which has tentatively been titled "Padmavati," is grabbing quite a few headlines regarding its casting.

Earlier, it had been reported that Shah Rukh Khan might star in the film and also, speculations were rife that Salman Khan could reunite with Bhansali with this film. But, the Khans might not sign the project as it is a women-centric film.

According to reports, Ranveer will play Alauddin Khilji and Deepika will be seen as Padmavati. It is said that the scripts have been shared to the actors and both of them are excited to come on board as soon as they finish their respective projects.

"Deepika and Ranveer are both excited about the film. They are both busy with their individual projects at the moment, but will see Bhansali soon to take the idea forward. Until then, the director will finish working on the script and the pre-production formalities," Deccan Chronicle quoted a source as saying.

It will be a treat to the fans who loved Deepika and Ranveer's pairing in the previous Bhansali movies – "Goliyon Ki Rasleela-Ram Leela" and "Bajirao Mastani." In their latest one, the Bollywood couple has captured millions of hearts with their brilliant performance that led to several awards.

Meanwhile, the duo is busy with their respective projects. Ranveer is shooting for Aditya Chopra's "Befikre" opposite Vaani Kapoor. It is believed that "Befikre" will be Yash Raj Films' most erotic movie till date as it has been inspired by Franco-Italian erotic drama "Last Tango in Paris" (1972), at least in terms of steamy scenes.

On the other hand, Deepika is working on her debut Hollywood project, "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage." She will be seen sharing screen space with international stars like Vin Diesel, Nina Dobrev, Tony Jaa and Ruby Rose. Bhansali's "Padmavati" will be her first Bollywood project after her international movie.
