Anurag Kashyap's "Bombay Velvet" has moved its release date to 28 November, which is almost one month before Aamir Khan's "PK" (Peekay) hits screens.

Amidst reports of Christmas clash between "P.K." and "Bombay Velvet", the former's team recently announced that the film has been shifted to an earlier date of 19 December.

But the "Bombay Velvet" team went a step further and surprised the media on Tuesday, announcing that the 25 December plan has been dropped and the film will release on 28 November.

The crew celebrated the wrapping up of the film with a cake, which had 28 November marked on it as its release date.

The film's lead actor, Ranbir Kapoor confirmed the change in the dates.

"It (change in release date) is the best way to take 'Bombay Velvet' to more audiences. It's a film made with a lot of love," Kapoor told The Times of India.

The actor's statement was backed up Vijay Singh, CEO of Fox Star Studios.

"This (BV) is a big-canvas film with some incredible performances and it demands a special release, so we are bringing it worldwide on the Thanksgiving weekend," Singh told the daily.

Even director Kashyap, who had earlier openly voiced displeasure with same release dates of the films, seemed content and gushed about the shooting experience with the cast and crew for over 10 months.

By shifting the release date "BV" team has altogether quashed all possibilities of the film being affected by "P.K."
