Here is some exciting news for Ram Charan's fans.

The actor's upcoming film "Govindudu Andarivaadele" is all set to hit screens for Dussehra this year and the film's makers have confirmed the release in a press statement.

Directed by Krishna Vamsi, "Govindudu Andarivaadele" is a family drama with Charan and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles. The film has Srikanth, Kamalinee Mukherjee, Prakash Raj and Jayasudha in pivotal roles.

The film's team took a short break from shooting during summer and is all set resume work from 5 June. Once the shooting is wrapped up, post production work will commence to get the film ready for dussehra release. The makers have not announced the film's exact release date, though there are buzz doing the rounds that it might hit screens on 1 October.

Ram Charan vs Mahesh Babu

The Ram Charan starrer is likley to clash with Mahesh Babu's "Aagadu" at the box office. The Sreenu Vaitla directorial is expected to hit the screens on 26 September, just five days prior to the release of Charan's film. An official announcement regarding the release dates of both the films are still awaited.

If they indeed clash, it wouldn't be first time for the actors. Their films have clashed on two occasions in the past - "Naayak"-SVSC" clashed in January 2013 and "Yevadu"-"1 Nenokkadine" locked horns during Sankranti 2014. Last year, both the Babu and Charan starrers performed well at the box office. However, this year, Charan's "Yevadu" outperformed "1 Nenokkadine" and registered good collections. It will be interesting to see how "Aagadu" and "Govindudu Andarivaadele" fare at the box office.

Expectations are high for both the films as the actors are among the most-popular stars of Telugu cinema. Charan has teamed up for the first time with director Krishna Vamsi for family drama and he will be sharing screen space with Aggarwal for the third time.

Popular music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja is working on the film's soundtracks. Yuvan has already completed recording three songs for the film. The family entertainer is written by Paruchuri Brothers and produced by Bandla Ganesh under Parameswara Art Productions banner.

The first look posters, which were released on the occasion of Charan's birthday (26 May), have generated a positive response from fans, who are now eagerly waiting for the first look teaser to be released.

"Aagadu" is the second film in Mahesh Babu-Sreenu Vaitla's association and the superstar will romance Tamanaah for the first time in the film. It also has Rajendra Prasad, Brahmaji, Brahmanandam, Sonu Sood and M.S. Narayana in supporting roles.

The Babu starrer is written by Anil Ravipudi, Upendra Madhav and Praveen Varma, and directed by Sreenu Vaitla. The film, which will have music by Thaman, is produced by Ram Achanta, Gopichand Achanta and Anil Sunkara under 14 Reels Entertainment banner.

The first look teaser of "Aagadu" is confirmed to release on 31 May, which happens to be actor Krishna's (Mahesh Babu's father) birthday.

Ram Charan-Sreenu Vaitla Project

Post the completion of "Govindudu Andarivaadele," Charan is all set to work with director Sreenu Vaitla for a new film.

The news has been confirmed by the actor's PR Sreenivasa Kumar. "#MegaPowerstar #RamCharan & Srinu Vytla DVV Danayya combo film follows after Govindudu AndariVaadele," Kumar tweeted.

It will be the first time that Charan and Vaitla will be working together for a film, which is likely to go on floors in September. Thaman will reportedly be composing the songs for the project, which is expected to hit screens in April 2015.
