The Income Tax Department on Monday conducted simultaneous searches at 12 locations in Mumbai linked to film production banner Panorama Studios and producers Kumar Mangat Pathak and Vashu Bhagnani, as part of a probe into suspected tax evasion and alleged overseas routing of funds.
Searches linked to film production entities
Separate teams of the Income Tax Department carried out searches at multiple offices and premises associated with the film producers and Panorama Studios. Officials are examining documents and financial transactions as part of the investigation into suspected financial irregularities and possible violations of tax regulations.

Focus on alleged overseas fund transfers
According to sources cited by the Free Press Journal, the department received inputs suggesting that substantial amounts may have been remitted overseas under the guise of film production, shooting expenses and overseas distribution.
Investigators are examining the transactions to determine whether funds were transferred abroad in violation of tax regulations and whether any income was allegedly concealed to evade taxes.
