Superstar Rajinikanth met the media after quite some time on Tuesday, 14 July, to express his grief over the death of legendary music director MS Viswanathan.

At the press meet, Rajinikanth was spotted in thick white beard and it paved way for speculations over his look in his next film, directed by Pa Ranjith. But on Tuesday, Rajinikanth was unable to avoid the media glare as people expected him to convey his message over the death of the legendary musician. It was then that the media got the opportunity to click photos of the superstar.

In no time, the pictures became the talk of the town as people started speculating whether it was Rajinikanth's latest look for his next film. This look is not new as he had made it famous in his film "Sri Raghavendra".

Also, the fact that Rajinikanth plays the role of an ageing gangster made people believe that it was Rajinikanth's look in his latest flick. Nonetheless, there is no confirmation on the same.

Rajinikanth has teamed up with budding director Pa Ranjith for his 159th movie. The superstar has reportedly taken a break from his usual commercial-rich character to play a realistic character of a Chennai-based Malaysian don.

The makers are yet to finalise the female lead for Rajinikanth. There were reports that Bollywood actress Vidya Balan and Nayantara were approached for the role. But the makers have remained silent on the issue.

In the technical team, there are many youngsters and this gives the movie a fresh feel. Murali will handle the cinematography department, Santhosh Narayanan will compose music, Ramalingam will handle art direction and Praveen KL will edit the flick, which will be launched on 2 August.
