The latest buzz from Kollywood is that Vikram's upcoming film "I" (aka "Ai") is all set to release during the Tamil New Year, which happens to be on 14 April.

If it turns out to be true, then "I" might clash with Rajinikanth's "Kochadaiiyaan" (aka "Kochadaiyaan"), which is also expected to hit screens during the Tamil New Year.

"Kochadaiiyaan" was expected to release this month. However, one of the film's co-producers recently revealed that the audio launch of the Rajinikanth starrer would happen on the eve of the actor's birthday, which falls on 12 December, while the film would release in January 2014.

However, it seems "Kochadaiiyaan" has been pushed further back and the buzz is that the film could release in April 2014, though there is no official confirmation on the same. But if the film releases during the Tamil New Year, it is likely to face strong competition from Vikram's "I."

Directed by Shankar, "I" is one of the most-awaited films of 2014. The film's shooting has almost been completed and is set to be wrapped soon. Expectations are high for the Vikram starrer as the actor is teaming up with Shankar 10 years after their successful 2013 film "Anniyan."

On the other hand, "Kochadaiiyaan", directed by Rajnikanth's daughter Soundarya, is touted as the first Indian 3D film to have used motion-capturing techniques. Both the films belong to different genre. While "Kochadaiiyaan" is an epic drama, "I" is deemed as a romantic action thriller.

The clash between Rajinikanth and Vikram will be an interesting one to watch as both the actors have a huge fan following.
