Latest buzz on Rajinikanth's "Lingaa" is that the film's audio is all set to be launched on Diwali 2014.

The shooting of "Lingaa" commenced in May and is progressing well. The film is being shot in various places including Mysore, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. According to latest reports, the climax portions will be shot in Shimoga, the schedule for which will start from 18 August. The film's team is planning to build a Shiva statue and a dam for the shoot, reported the Times of India.

"Lingaa's climax portions are very likely to be shot in Shimoga. The team is also planning to build a Lord Shiva statue and a big dam set to film some important scenes. They are keeping the details about their schedule in Shimoga under wraps as they had a lot of difficult managing the huge crowd that thronged the shooting spots when they shot in Mysore and Hyderabad earlier," a source close to the "Lingaa" unit told TOI.

Directed by K.S. Ravi Kumar, "Lingaa" will have the superstar playing a dual role. The film has Bollywood actress Sinha making her Tamil film debut opposite Rajinikanth. "Singam" actress Anushka Shetty plays the other female lead in the film. Santhanam, Jagapathi Babu, Dev Gill, Karunakaran, Radha Ravi and Vijaya Kumar are also part of the film's cast.

"Lingaa" music is composed by Oscar winner A.R. Rahman and cinematography is by Rathnavelu. The project is produced by Rockline Venkatesh under Rockline Movies banner, while Eros International will be distributing it.

The Rajinikanth starrer is gearing up for release in December. According to reports, "Lingaa" will be superstar's birthday treat (12 December) for his fans. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the film's release and audio launch dates.

"Lingaa" will be Rajinikanth's second release of the year after the big budget epic drama "Kochadaiiyaan." The Soundarya directorial, which was in the making for more than two years, finally hit the screens on 23 May, 2014. "Kochadaiiyaan", touted to be India's first 3d film using motion capturing techniques, received decent response from critics and the audience alike. The film turned out to be an above-average grosser considering its big budget.

After many years, Rajinikanth is all set to have his second film releasing in the same year. The actor has been doing only one film in a year. Prior to "Kochadaiiyaan", Rajinikanth had starred in 2010-blockbuster flick "Enthiran" ("Robot"). This year, it will be a real treat for the fans to get to see their thalaivar (leader) for the second time on the big screens.
