Rajinikanth and P Vasu, who have earlier collaborated for a few successful films, are likely to join hands once again. The duo is reportedly in talks over the sequel to their blockbuster film "Chandramukhi."

A source told Behindwoods that Rajinikanth and P Vasu are planning a sequel "Chandramukhi 2." The talks are in the initial stage and nothing is finalised yet. They want to remake the successful Kannada film "Shivalinga" in Tamil.

Shivaraj Kumar and Vedhika aka Vedhicka-starrer "Shivalinga" is a horror-film. It tells the story of a CID officer played by Shivanna unravelling a murder mystery. The hero's work and personal lives get embroiled even as he tries to solve the case and this is the interesting part of the story.

Rajinikanth had watched the movie last month and was reportedly impressed with the content and the brilliant performance of the lead actors. Reports had claimed that the superstar had shown an interest in starring in the Tamil remake.

This development doesn't come as a surprise as P Vasu had successfully remade his Kannada film "Apthamitra," which itself was inspired by Malayalam blockbuster "Manichitrathazhu," in Tamil as "Chandramukhi" with Rajinikanth starring in it.

However, also reports indicate that Rajinikanth is also in talks over starring in the remake of Malayalam film "Bhaskar the Rascal." So, it is believed that the superstar might take up one among the two remakes.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth has wrapped up the shooting of his next film "Kabali," which will release later this year. The Tamil superstar is also busy with his other project "2.0" aka "Endhiran 2," written and directed by Shankar. This flick will hit screens in 2017.
