Southern superstar Rajinikant is scheduled for a year-end visit to Tokyo, as part of the world premiere for his much awaited movie "Kochadaiyaan" this December.

Much to the delight of his fans in Japan, the Tokyo capital will be the only city amongst the Indian cities of Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad to host the film premiere.

"All the dynamics of a Japanese premiere for Kochadaiyaanare now being worked out. Deepika and Rajini Sir are expected to be in Tokyo in December for the premiere," The Times of India (TOI)quoted a source close to the film as saying.

The movie, which also stars Deepika Padukone in the female lead role, was initially slated for a Diwali release. Though the release date is not officially confirmed, latest buzz suggested that the multilingual film will make its debut on the historical date 12.12.12 (December 12, 2012) which is also Rajini's birthday.

Rajinikanth has a huge fan base in Japan and the actor had planned for a visit earlier this year following the tsunami tragedy that hit the nation in 2011.

On account of his poor health condition, Rajinikanth was not allowed to travel. Earlier in May, the 62-year-old actor was admitted to Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre (SRMC) over respiratory problems.

After almost three months of observation, doctors declared that the actor is doing well and is fit to travel. Upon receiving assurance that the superstar is in good health, makers of the film decided on the Tokyo trip with Deepika and other cast and crew members of the film.

"We're certainly looking at a gigantic release. The film will be released in separate languages in different parts. We're planning to give Rajiniji's fans a treat," TOI quoted film's producer Dr Murli Manohar as saying.

Much to the delight of his Japanese fans, it was also reported that the actor is learning the language in a bid to communicate and build rapport with them. "He won't be able to dub his own lines in the Japanese version of Kochadaiyaan. But he'd be able to converse with his fans," a source said.
