Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam's affair was a publicity stunt, reveals 'Sanam Re' actor

Rumours of Bollywood actor Pulkit Samrat dating his "Sanam Re" co-star Yami Gautam has been doing the rounds for some time now. In fact, there were reports that Gautam is the reason behind Samrat and his wife Shweta Rohira's split.

However, Rohira said in an interview that Samrat left her because of his family and Gautam had "eyes" on her husband. On the other hand, rumour had it that the "Sanam Re" pair would tie the knot.

Putting an end to all speculations, Samrat has finally opened up on his affair with Gautam. "The rumours were started only to promote the film. And we are very happy because it's helping the movie. I am glad the promotions are going well," Samrat told Daily Bhaskar.

After declaring that their affair was a publicity stunt to promote their film, he went on a spree of praising Gautam. "She is very pretty. And she has a great sense of humour. Yami is a natural performer. There is no acting happening there," he said.

Meanwhile, Gautam and Samrat are busy promoting their film. A few days ago, Samrat appeared on his wife Rohira's rakhi brother Salman Khan's show "Bigg Boss 9" to promote his flick. However, Gautam didn't join her co-star. The movie is scheduled to be released on 12 February.

Though the on-screen couple's affair turned out to be a publicity stunt, this is not the first time that Bollywood actors have applied this formula to promote their films. Alia Bhatt was rumoured to be dating Arjun Kapoor when "2 States" was about to hit the screens, and being in a relationship with Varun Dhawan ahead of the release of "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania". Later, there were reports that these link-ups were mere rumours.
