Ilayathalapathy Vijay's movie "Puli" has been censored on Tuesday, 15 September and bagged clean chit from the Regional Censor Board.

The makers of the film are now happy that the movie has been appreciated by the board members.

According to producer PT Selvakumar, the board members praised the content and were really impressed by the VFX works.

The 'U' certificate has also benefited "Puli" in a big way as the movie will be exempted from the 30% entertainment tax. Given that the movie has been made with a budget of more Rs 100 crore, the exemption will help the flick to recover the investment at the earliest.

"Puli" is a fantasy-adventure movie written and directed by Chimbu Deven. The genre is something new for the Tamil audience. Hence, a kind of curiosity factor is working in favour of the flick.

Meanwhile, a song teaser of "Puli" was released on Monday, 14 September and it has managed to create quite a buzz in the industry.

"Puli" is a multi-starrer movie, which has Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep, Shruti Haasan, Hansika Motwani and yesteryear actress Sridevi Kapoor in key roles. Prabhu, Nandita Sweta, Vijayakumar, Thambi Ramaiah, Aadukalam Naren, Imman Annachi, Sathyan and others are also there in the cast.
