Runaway sitcom Friends has, for the longest time, served as a stress-buster. But, could it take the stress out of taking exams?

According to a DIRECTV survey, those who binge-watch Friends are likely to perform better in whatever exams they are taking. The point of the survey was to understand the connection between sitcoms and intelligence.

Several US universities participated. When the TV shows candidates were watching at the time they took their SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test), it was found that the ones with high scores have been watching Friends. The Simpsons, South Park, Seinfeld were other shows that came out on top half of the list.

Interestingly, the highly-rated and extremely popular show Game of Thrones was linked to lower SAT scores. Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, and Dexter were some of the other shows that were linked with bad scores.

It's not much of a surprise that Friends aced the survey. Be it Ross (David Schwimmer) and Rachel's (Jenifer Aniston) relationship, Monica's (Courtney Cox) obsessiveness, Chandler's (Matthew Perry) on-point jokes or Joey (Matt LeBlanc) and Phoebe's (Lisa Kudrow) flakiness, the show was one roller-coaster ride and it doesn't fail to entertain even today.

Because it enjoys such a loyal fanbase globally, there has been a longstanding rumour about a reunion of the show. However, producer David Crane broke a million hearts when he confirmed to The Wrap (a few months ago) that it wasn't happening and it never will.

Ross and Rachel are married and happy, Monica-Chandler doing fine too, Crane added. But, Aniston seems hopeful about the reunion, or at least extremely eager to get the show up and running one more time.

"I fantasize about it. It really was the greatest job I ever had. I don't know what it would look like today, but you never know. So many shows are being successfully rebooted," the InStyle magazine quoted her as saying.

Apparently, Cox, Kudrow and Aniston are interested in a Friend reunion, but LeBlanc doesn't want to be asked that question. Earlier this year, he had said that it's better to leave that story alone adding that it was meant for a finite period.
