Telugu Titans (yellow) go up against Bengal Warriors in the Pro Kabaddi LeaguePro Kabbadi League

Telugu Titans came out victorious 44-43 against U Mumba in a hard-fought match in the Pro Kabaddi League at the Rajiv Gandhi Port Stadium in Vizag on Sunday.

U Mumba have now lost three games in a row, and with it have lost their dominance in the Pro Kabadi League. The boys from Mumbai still lead the points table but with three losses in a row they are feeling the heat.

In an earlier encounter between the Titans and U Mumba the game had ended in a tie. This time around the Titans saw to it they would get over the line. This win for the Telugu Titans, keeps them in the hunt for a play-off spot as they have their noses in front of the last two sides- Puneri Paltan and Bengal Warriors. The Titans are in sixth place, just behind Dabang Delhi with a game in hand.

Going into the game, U Mumba were the favourites but they were expecting a difficult match and the Titans gave them just that. Right from the beginning the Titans showed that they meant business. U Mumba, on the other hand, made a nervy start as their skipper and star player Anup Kumar and Mohit Chillar had to sit out for some time after being tagged. U Mumba, however, struck back as they caught Titans defender Deepak Hudda on the backfoot.

Both teams kept the heat on, as by the 15th minute only a solitary point separated them with the boys from Mumbai leading. The Titans, however, would not be kept down as Rahul Chaudhari came to the fore. He seemed in imperious form as he scored the first LONA points of the game for the Titans. As halftime came the Titans led 22-15 .

Chaudhari did not take his foot off the pedal as he started the second half by bringing up his 102nd raid point of the season. The raider was truly in stupendous form in the game. For U Mumba, it was Pawan Kumar who kept them in the game, while, Rishank Devadiga's patchy performance pulled them back.

An easy victory it seemed was coming the Telugu Titans' way, but in the dying stages, U Mumba fought back as the Titans slipped up in defence. Thereafter, it was left to the hero of the game Chaudhari to ensure that they held on to their lead and with it clinch the encounter.
