There's no one like our Desi girl! Priyanka Chopra Jonas, our PeeCee, never fails to wow us with her sartorial choices and often slays at international fashion events, always amping up the glam quotient.
Priyanka skipped the Met Gala 2026 this year, and her presence and look were truly missed. However, the actor made a jaw-dropping appearance at the Gold House Gala 2026. She received the prestigious Global Vanguard Honour for her significant influence on Asian Pacific culture at the fifth annual event.
She attended the gala with her mother, Madhu Chopra, standing proudly by her side as her biggest cheerleader. The ceremony also honoured Charles Melton, Eileen Gu, Jet Li, Simu Liu and Revathi Advaithi, among others.
The actor looked like a vision in white and opted for an Indo-western outfit. Celebrating Indian craftsmanship on a global stage, Priyanka wore a two-decade-old Amit Aggarwal chikankari saree. However, it wasn't styled like a traditional saree. Instead, she transformed it into an evening gown with a strapless, blouse-less silhouette, styled by Indian celebrity stylist Ami Patel.
She completed the look with a stunning Bvlgari necklace.
The gown featured a semi-saree drape with fabric cascading from her right shoulder and a dramatic train attached to the skirt, which also featured a thigh-high slit.

As for the makeup, artist Matthew Raymond Clyde Taylor opted for warm brown tones to complement her skin, along with a flush of pink on the cheeks and a hint of mauve on her lips. The actor ditched eyeliner and instead opted for mascara to add volume to her lashes. To complete the look, hairstylist Irinel de Leon straightened Priyanka's hair and gave the ends a soft blow-dry finish.
Netizens had mixed reactions to Priyanka draping a saree like a gown and ditching the blouse and bra for the bold look.
Redditors and social media users also claimed that some of her pictures on Instagram and other platforms looked heavily photoshopped, alleging that her darker skin tone had been lightened using filters and that her cheek contours appeared extremely sharp.
Many, however, praised her appearance and confidence.
One user wrote, "She is aging so well. Never seen a woman so hot in her 40s."
Another commented, "That's why she should never tan... her natural colour is so much more beautiful than any Kardashian-shade tan."
A third user wrote, "Ageing in reverse!!"
One more said, "With the confidence she has, she looks good even if she wears a potato sack, but aren't these photos heavily photoshopped?"
While receiving the landmark South Asian honour, Priyanka thanked the women in her family, especially her mother and grandmother. Drawing inspiration from fellow honouree Revathi Advaithi, she spoke about how the women in her family had always emphasised the importance of education and building "a skill set."
Expressing gratitude towards her mother during her acceptance speech, Priyanka said, "So thank you for being the foundation of who I am, for always being a student of life."

In fact, while speaking to Good Morning America, she revealed the most important life lesson her mother taught her.
"My mother has taught me so many things from when I was young, as all mothers do, but standing up for yourself is something she taught me when I was very young, and I'm definitely trying to teach my daughter that too," Priyanka shared.
She added, "I don't know how we're celebrating, but just being together, honestly. We don't have any special plans because it is about the moms being celebrated, but I have special plans for my mom and my mother-in-law and a lot of amazing mother figures in my life."

In a video on Instagram, she was seen speaking to Diet Sabya exclusively at the event. In a rapid fire round in the clip, she revealed that she stopped counting her awards around a decade ago. When asked about her favourite pickle, she replied, "Always mango pickle, but I am not a sweet mango pickle girl, I like the spicy one. Definitely green chilli and chicken."
For the unversed, the 2026 gala was held at The Music Centre in downtown Los Angeles under the theme 'A New Gold World', celebrating cultural influence and leadership.
