It was reported recently that Priyanka Chopra has been taken on board Chris Pratt's upcoming action flick. After starring in A Kid Like Jake and Isn't It Romantic, the actress was set to star opposite the Guardians of the Galaxy actor in Cowboy Ninja Viking.

However, a new report suggests that the film has been delayed indefinitely. The movie was set to hit cinemas in the summer of 2019. But a Collider report shares that the movie has been pulled out of the movie calendar and doesn't have a new release date yet.

The news comes a month before the film was set to hit the floors and start filming. While Cowboy Ninja Viking wrapped its pre-production and set the June release date, sources told the publication that Universal "wasn't eager to rush to meet that release date, given that it has franchise hopes for the property."

The site confirms that the film is still happening and it could release later next year or maybe delayed further than that. The report doesn't mention Priyanka's name but Entertainment Weekly had confirmed that the Bollywood-turned-Hollywood actress will be playing the lead role in the project.

Cowboy Ninja Viking has been a controversial pick for Priyanka as she signed the movie soon after she left Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's upcoming project Bharat. When the actress opted out of the Bollywood venture, director Ali Abbas Zafar hinted at a possible wedding in the actress's life.

Speculations were high that Priyanka was engaged to her boyfriend Nick Jonas and she could be tying the knot with the singer later this year. But when her new Hollywood venture was announced, many presumed she chose Hollywood over Bollywood. Considering that the previous filming dates of Cowboy Ninja Viking were scheduled around the same time as Bharat, many presumed she walked out of the project for the Hollywood venture.

While the producers were miffed with the actress's decision, the lead actor of Bharat wished her luck. Meanwhile, Chopra doesn't seem too affected by the change in plans. The actress has begun filming another Bollywood project with Shonali Bose. The film is titled The Sky Is Pink, where she will be seen with Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim.

The 36-year-old shared pictures from the project earlier today.
