Two Malayalam films have announced their releases on 2 October.

"Tamaar Padaar" starring Prithviraj and "Ithihasa" starring Anushree are all set to fight it out on the same day. Both the films are said to be a comedy film, filled with actions. The difference between both the film is that "Tamaar Padaar" will be a satirical comedy while "Ithihasa" is a fantasy comic thriller.

"Tamaar Padaar" is written and directed by Dileesh Nair and has Prithviraj, Baburaj, Chemban Vinod and Srinda Ashab in pivotal roles. The film is touted as a satirical comedy film.

Prithviraj dons the role of a police officer again in the film with the character name Pauran (Citizen) and is spotted using Trivandrum slang. Meanwhile, in his last release "Sapthamashree Thaskaraha", the actor was seen using Thrissur slang and played the role of a thief. Pauran is all set to find a notorious escapee Sukumara Kurup.

Baburaj plays the character of Jumper Thampi who plays street circus. He owns the circus company Kanakam Royal Circus named after his wife Kanakam. Next important character in the film is Chemban Vinod, who is known as Cross Belt Mani. He is also a street performer and specialised in breaking tube lights on the chest.

When Jumper Thampi and Cross Belt Mani meet, they understand the scope of performing together and become partners. Their life gets mixed up when the Assistant Commissioner of Police enters their life.

The lead actress of the film is Srinda Ashab who plays Valsamma, a bold and smart woman. The teaser of the film has given an impression that her role in this film will be one of her best after portrayal of Susheela in the film "1983".

Vijay Babu will play a socially committed person and Prithviraj's father in the film. He wanted his son to become a police officer so that he would serve his society and be just.

"Tamaar Padaar" also has Shammi Thilkan and Maniyan Pilla Raju in pivotal roles. The film is produced by M Renjith under the banner of Rajaputhra Visual Media

"Ithihasa" is directed by debutant Binu S. The makers of the film have promised a visual treat to audience with the film and the trailer and the songs of the film have become popular among netizens. The film is also said to have a lot of graphic sequences, which will impress the viewers to the core.

The story of the film revolves around a thousand-year-old magical ring, which gets into the hands of two thieves, Alby and Vikku. Troubles ponder their life since the day they get the ring. Things get worse for them when one day Alvy turns to a woman.

Shine Tom Chacko, who is known for his performance in the film, "Annayum Rassolum", plays the role of Alvy and "Hi I'm Tony" fame Balu Varghese will play Vikku in the film.

The highlight of the film is said to be the performance by the lead actress, Anushree, who plays the role of Janaki in the film. The trailer and the songs of the film have shown her being transposed to the role of Alvy.

With the trailer release, the actress has managed to grab attention of the audience with her action sequences and her male body language. Anushree has reportedly performed these action sequences without the help of any dupes.

"Ithihasa" will also have a huge star cast of Joy Mathew, Sunil Sugatha, Valsala Menon, Ambika Mohan, Swapna Menon, Divya Prabhu, Nobi, Binu Adimali and Binoy.

The script is penned by debutant Anish Ashok and the dialogues are written by Anil Narayanan. The cinematography is handled by Sinoj P Ayyapan and the music is composed by Deepak Dev.
