Recent reports state that Prithviraj will share screen space with Mohanlal for the first time in Malayalam movie "Loham". 

According to the report, Prithviraj will make guest appearance in the movie as a Police Commissioner. Although it is a brief role, the scene with both the stars is sure to create waves among fans.

Prithviraj has recently made a guest appearance in Mammootty's well-acclaimed movie "Munnariyippu".

"Loham", with tag line "Yellow Metal", is one of the most-awaited movies of Mohanlal. It is directed by Ranjith. This is the fifth movie where Ranjith will direct Mohanlal; their previous flicks include "Ravana Prabhu" (Ranjith's directorial debut), "Chandrolsavam", and "Spirit".

The movie, which will be shot extensively at various locations in Kozhikode, Kochi, and Dubai, will be a crime thriller based on gold smuggling.

"Spirit", which released in 2012, turned out to be one of the most noticeable films of the year as it dealt with the issue of alcoholism in Kerala. The movie fetched several awards that year, including National Film Awards for Best Film on Social Issue.

Reports are that "Loham" is the revised version of Ranjith's "G for Gold", which was dropped earlier. Reports had also stated that Manju Warrier was part of the movie, but it was learnt later that she was dropped from the project.

Director Ranjith has also ensemble starcast of Andreah Jeremiah, Ajmal Ameer, Siddhique, Renji Panicker, Harish Peradi, Mythili, VK Prakash, Tini Tom, Thesni Khan, Joju George, Gauri Nanda, and Ashvin A Mathew. Stars like Aju Varghese, Srinda Arhaan, Pearly Maney, Mani Kuttan, and Mani Kuttan will also be making guest appearances in the flick.

The shooting of the movie began on 8 March at Kozhikode International Airport with Ashvin Mathew and Harish Peradi.

"Loham" is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Ashirwad Cinemas that had also produced Ranjith's "Ravanaprabhu" and "Spirit".
