Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran's upcoming mega-budget bilingual project "Karnan" was launched in Dubai on Friday, 15 January. The movie is based on the mythological character Karna from Mahabharata and will be made in Malayalam and Tamil.

"Karnan" was launched at a function in Al Falak Ballroom, located on the 26th floor of Burj Al Arab in Dubai on Friday. It was attended by Prithviraj, director RS Vimal and others. The epic drama film, which looks similar to blockbuster movie "Baahubali", will be the biggest film ever made in Mollywood.

Prithviraj, who is getting good response for his latest movie "Paavada", thanked his fans for accepting the comedy entertainer wholeheartedly and asked them to wait for a surprise that he will reveal at 9 pm (IST) on Friday, when the makers of "Karnan" released the first motion poster of the movie. The poster looks promising just like SS Rajamouli's magnum opus project.

KK Senthil Kumar, who is known for his works in epic movies "Magadheera" and "Baahubali", will handle the cinematography in "Karnan" as well and Gopi Sunder will compose the music for the film.

"Karnan", produced by Venu Kunnappilly under the banner of Kavya Films will be shot in Haridwar and Varanasi. The films also marks the comeback of actor-director duo Prithviraj and RS Vimal, who are basking in the success of their first outing "Ennu Ninte Moideen", which is still making tremendous box office records at the Kerala box office, even after five months of its release.
