One of the most shocking moments in the second half of "Pretty Little Liars" season 6 includes the death of Cece. Alison's (Sasha Pieterse) sister, who manipulated, tortured and physically abused Aria, Spencer, Hanna and Emily (Shay Williams) was found face down near Rosewood's church.
If her death looked like a suicide attempt, the show forced us to think again. After all, nothing is quite straight forward in "Pretty Little Liars," at least when it concerns the DiLaurentis family. At the end of season 6 episode 11, the liars are told that Cece's death is being investigated as homicide. Lorenzo forced the four to extend their stay in Rosewood, but are none of them guilty? This will be explored in season 6 episode 12.
In the promo for the upcoming episode, Aria (Lucy Hale) stands in the midst of what seems to be an intervention. Hanna (Ashley Benson) asks her childhood friend's whereabouts on the night Charlotte died. As Aria looks stunned, Hanna doesn't allow her to speak and instead says, "I saw you leave the hotel on the night Charlotte died."
However, it isn't likely that Aria is responsible for the death of Alison's younger sister. Sure, she did confess that she's still scared of "A," but it appears that Aria made her way out of the hotel to meet her former love, Ezra Fitz (Ian Harding).
The promo for season 6 episode 12 shows glimpses of Ezra and Aria. Furthermore, the video clip shows several pictures of Ezra in the church, but would he have carried out the murder? At this point, there is little to suggest Ezra's motivate behind killing Cece, but he will be treated as one of the suspects in the plot.
Elsewhere in the episode, Hanna's ex boyfriend Caleb meets her fiancé at a very awkward lunch involving all the girls.
Season 6 episode 12's synopsis reads:
"Aria starts to look suspicious as she immediately heads back to Boston; Emily continues to lie about her life in California; and the ladies find themselves in familiar territory. Meanwhile, Alison keeps a close eye on her friends."
