New Delhi, Nov 22 (ANI): US president Barack Obama has accepted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's invitation to be the chief guest at Republic Day celebrations in January. Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Syed Akbaruddin said that a confirmation was received through diplomatic channel about Obama's visit to the country. Obama was invited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will be the first U.S. president to attend a Republic Day celebration, which marks the enactment of India's constitution on January 26, 1950. The White House said Obama will meet with Modi and other Indian officials to strengthen and expand the US-India relationship.
