New Delhi, Nov 03 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday (November 03) said that there is a compelling need to provide livelihood security to those in the lower rungs of the socio-economic ladder. Mukherjee inaugurated a Summit on 'Livelihood Security: Realising the vision for 1.3 billion Indians' organised by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) in New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, he presented an honest appraisal of issues concerning livelihood security and expected solutions that would guide policy makers. Mukherjee emphasised on the need of poverty elimination not merely poverty elevation.
