The one-of-its-kind event in India has finally arrived. Futsal, a five-a-side football match featuring two sides of 20 minutes each, will be featured as a round-robin competition for the first time in the country.

Big names like Paul Scholes, Ronaldinho, Hernan Crespo and Ryan Giggs have already been announced and it's now just the wait of some more hours before we see these legends finally take to the field.

Six teams from Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Kochi, Goa and Chennai will be participating in the first edition of Premier Futsal in India, starting July 15. The matches will be played only in Chennai and Goa in the first edition.

Although there are ongoing problems between the organisers and the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the tournament is expected to go through successfully nevertheless. It is governed by the Futsal Association of India (FAI), which is affiliated to the Asociacion Mundial de Futsal (AMF).

While the confirmed squads have not been announced as yet, there was no auction of players in the first edition of Premier Futsal in India. However, the bidding of players could be seen ahead of the second edition of the event. A total of three international players, one international marquee player and one Indian player will comprise the five-member teams.
