The box office collections of latest Nivin Pauly starrer "Premam" suggest that it is doing well both in India and abroad.

Great India Films, its distributor in the US, says the movie has collected over $97,000 in three days in the country. The film was released on 12 June in 25 locations in the US.

The box office collection figures in the US are said to be closer to that of recent Bollywood releases such as "Hamari Adhuri Kahani", which was released in over 60 locations. Trade experts say it is for the first time a Malayalam movie is challenging a Bollywood film overseas.

"Premam" looks unstoppable in India as well. Unofficial sources close to the industry claim the collection by third weekend was over ₹25 crore.

The movie reportedly experienced 90% to 100% theatre occupancy in the third weekend, which is incredible. The film also created history in Erankulam city with gross collection of ₹66 lakh in two weeks.

With new movies such as "Thinkal Muthal Velli Vare" and "Appavum Veenjum" making less impact in Kerala box office, "Premam" is expected to have a good run in the third week as well.
