Nivin Pauly and Alphonse Puthren's movie "Premam" had received tremendous reviews from movie-goers in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. This paved the way for Telugu movie-makers to try their luck by remaking the romantic entertainer in Tollywood with the same title.

The Chandoo Mondeti-directed film released the first song titled "Evare" from the movie featuring Naga Chaithanya and Shruti Haasan on Monday, Aug. 29, as a birthday gift to Akkineni Nagarjuna.

Upon the release of the "Evare" song sung by Vijay Yesudas, International Business Times India conducted a poll to know which song the audience liked most - "Evare" or its original version "Malare." The result clearly indicates that most of the music lovers are disappointed with the remake version of the song. As many as 89.87 per cent of the people voted for "Malare", while "Evare" was liked by just 10.03 per cent of the participants.

The release of the song has led to negative response from the audience with many saying that "Premam" (Telugu) would be "the worst remake ever." Owing to the unfavourable response, the makers have now disabled the comment session of the video on the YouTube page of Sithara Entertainments.

It has to be noted that the Telugu version of "Premam" started getting trolled on social media soon after photos of Shruti Haasan were leaked from the sets of the upcoming movie, which also stars Anupama Parameshwaran and Madonna Sebastian in main roles.
