Naga Chaitanya-starrer Premam continues to do well on weekdays. After getting a fantastic start, the movie has retained good viewership, thereby witnessing an impressive collection in five days.

As per leading trade tracker Andhra Box Office, Premam has grossed Rs 22.1 crore in five days at the worldwide box office. The movie has minted Rs 14.1 crore from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana alone. It has done well in Karnataka where it has earned Rs 2.7 crore and it collected Rs 1.35 crore from the rest of India to take its total tally to Rs 18.6 crore at the domestic box office.

In the US, Premam has turned out to be a hit. It has minted Rs 3.95 crore to end the first weekend at Rs 22.1 crore. In the opening weekend, it had collected Rs 3.45 crore here.

The Telugu film had raked in Rs 8.9 crore with a distributors' share of Rs 6.32 crore in the 3-day first weekend in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana box office. The worldwide box office collection of the film stood at Rs 15 crore in the first weekend.

Generally, a film's collection sees a huge dip post the first weekend. But the business of Premam remained stable on Monday and Tuesday. The trade experts say that the extended Dasara holiday has played a major role in its success.

Premam, which is the remake of a Malayalam movie of the same name, deals with the journey of Vikram (Naga Chaitanya) through three different stages of his life. He falls in love with three girls -- Sithara (Shruthi Hassan), Suma (Anupama Parameswaran) and Sindhu (Madonna) -- and fails each time. How he settles down with one of the three, forms the crux of the story.
