As expected, Salman Khan's film "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" (PRDP) has got a bumper opening not only in India but at the overseas box office as well.

The film has already started shattering the records at the box office with its morning shows. Early morning figures from Noida circuit reveal that "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" has pushed past records of "Kick", "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", "Happy New Year" and "PK", according to Box Office India.

The occupancy in several theatres is more than 90 percent across the country in the first day morning shows and it is expected to increase by the end of the day. Shah Rukh Khan's "Happy New Year", which was released a day after Diwali in 2014, opened with similar occupancy and it went on to collect Rs 44 crore.

However, Salman's "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" has higher number of screen count compared to "Happy New Year". "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" is releasing in over 4,500 screens in India and over 1,100 screens in the international market.

"#PremRatanDhanPayo screen count [revised]... India: 4500+ screens... Overseas: 1100 screens... Worldwide: 5600+ screens." trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

But it remains to be seen whether "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" will emerge as the highest opener.

Meanwhile, here are few tweets showing the response Salman's "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" is getting at the theatres across India on its opening day.
