Renowned cult classic movies' director, Fred Dekker, who is known for his work in films like "Monster Squad" and "Night of the Creeps," has recently hinted "Predator 4" is under development and the production is moving forward.

There have been rumours of a fourth movie in the franchise since the 2010 "Predators" movie. However, any further news regarding the sequel didn't exist except for the fact that Shane Black, who directed movies like "Iron Man 3" and "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang," would be writing and directing the film.

On his Facebook page, Dekker said, "I cannot say where I was this morning, or what I saw, or what we talked about. But if you are a 'Predator' fan, one word – yes. (sic)"

According to Cinema Blend, Dekker's statement could hint at several aspects of the sequel. It either means the project has been green-lit by the studios and Dekker and Black are collaborating on it, or the script has been finished by both of them and they have come out with a new Predator design, which the studios have approved.

In a previous statement, Black had said there were no plans of making "Predator 4" a reboot of the franchise as it would be a waste of an established mythology. Instead, he said the idea was to make an inventive sequel like "Jurassic World", with classic as well as new and original elements.

According to some of the rumours, the two "Alien vs Predator" movies won't be considered part of the original series. Both movies were adaptations of the comic-book mash-up franchises and didn't explore the original mythos built by the "Alien" and "Predator" movies. Hence, they never received the same praise from critics and fans as the original movies.

As reported by Comic Book, 20th Century Fox has recently announced "Predator 4" will be released March 2, 2018. Earlier, Fox had revealed a teaser art of the movie that includes the phrase: "You'll Never See Him Coming."
