Coimbatore, Dec 6 (ANI): The outbreak of bird flu in neighbouring Kerala caused a setback to the poultry industry of Tamil Nadu. Thousands of dead ducks infected by a highly contagious bird flu virus were found in Kerala, prompting the authorities to cull more than 200,000 birds. Kerala had banned the movement of the chickens from Tamil Nadu due to bird flu threat. President of Broiler Chicken Traders Association of Coimbatore, Kandaswamy said that their chicken stock has accumulated. A poultry farmer Manivannan said that business was severely affected due to bird flu threat in Kerala.
