In a very strange and surprising move, Pornhub, one of the biggest porn sites in the world, is offering a $25,000 scholarship for students across the world. As part of their new campaign "Pornhub Cares', the scholarship is a way for the porn site to show that it cares for the higher education of students -along with providing 'visual aid' for their stress release.

While many criticised Pornhub's gesture to be a vain attempt at getting PR credit,  the more cynical-minded assumed that it was a sleazy plan devised by the group to trick youngsters or "amateurs" into submitting content for their website. However, so far that does not seem to be the case.

According to a press release, the one thing Pornhub does want you to submit is a 1,000-1,500 essay on "How do you strive to make others happy?" The applicants are also required to submit a video message, which does not hold any guidelines and is only expected to further illustrate his/her response to the essay question. Now, that seemed a little shady.

However, Pornhub vice-president Corey Price assured that they are not asking students to submit porn in exchange for money. "The criteria isn't to submit the best porn video and get a scholarship. I would be surprised if we had any pornographic entries," Price told The Daily Beast.

Also, it would be pretty silly of Pornhub to use the cover of a scholarship program to get youngsters to submit pornographic videos, when they already have a history of regularly accepting homemade porn submissions for their websites.

Moreover, the press release clearly states that to be considered an eligible applicant, students should also attach their résumé and official transcript along with their essay and video submissions, all of which are due 31 October.
