Actor-turned-producer Pooja Bhatt filed a police complaint against an unknown man after she received an abusive call from him on Tuesday.

Pooja registered a complaint with Bandra police in which she stated that her father also received a call from the same number. On Wednesday afternoon, she informed police about the call and said that a man had been threatening her while using abusive language throughout the previous day.

"Off to Bandra police station to file an official complaint with regards to receiving abusive/threatening calls... last night. Have been getting threatening, obscene calls. The male voice, obviously inebriated abused me & threatened to come over," she tweeted.

Bandra police registered a case under sections 507 (Criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication) and 509 (gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of Indian Penal Code.

"We have the number from which the call was made. It is a cellphone number and we are trying to trace it," Indian Express quoted Deputy Commissioner of Police Pratap Dighavkar, Zone 9, as saying.

Pooja called her father to inform him about the call and found out that even he had received a call from the same number on Tuesday midnight. Mahesh couldn't take the call as the phone was on silent mode.

"My phone record says that I too received a call from the same number at 12.35 am (9 th Jan). It's organized terror!" Mahesh Bhatt tweeted.
