Koraput, Mar 5 (ANI): Police killed two Maoists in an encounter in a forest area near Pottangi in Koraput district of Odisha, and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from them. Inspector General of Police (IGP) (south-western range), Yashbant Jethwa said that rebels opened fire at the security forces who were on a routine combing operation and in retaliation, the security forces also opened fire in which the Maoists were killed. The other Maoists fled the area, leaving behind the bodies of their slain comrades. Maoists are rebels who try to sink deep roots and form links after decades of neglect. Equipped with weaponsthe Maoists want to cripple economic activity. Security personals of late are coming down heavily upon the left wing extremists, denting their confidence and spreading the fear of law.
