Simdega, March 25 (ANI): Acting on a tip-off, police arrested a Maoist, identified as Sanju Pradhan in Simdega district of Jharkhand. Police recovered four mobile phones from him. Superintendent of Police (SP) Aseem Vikrant said that the arrested Maoist was on task of recce for observing troop movement in the region. The hotbeds of Maoists in the state are under tight security blanket, as India, will hold its general election in nine stages staggered between April 7 and May 12. Maoists say they are fighting for the rights of poor farmers and landless labourers. Thousands have been killed in the insurgency since the late 1960s.
