Gumla, May 21 (ANI): Police has arrested a Maoist in India’s red corridor of Gulma district of Jharkhand and recovered arms, ammunition and a number of mobile phones. Accused in several criminal activities, the red rebel was the commander of a faction in the area and a wanted criminal in police records. The police launched combing operation in the area and were successful in nabbing the Maoist on Tuesday. Maoists, also known as Naxals, have killed police and politicians, and targeted government buildings and railway tracks in an insurgency that has killed thousands since the 1960s.
