Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (Pokemon ORAS) has many mysterious Pokemon and secret bases. The game has a host of shiny Pokemon that are rare and players don't come across it often.

Players can know that a Pokemon is shiny or not by its colours. Though some do not have the same amount of colours as the others, they have an animation with stars popping from it.

Below we look at how to get a shiny Pokemon and iDigitalTimes has revealed some of the methods that can help players:

The Standard Method

This is a luck-based method to get the shiny Pokemon. Players have to head to the tall grass and wait for the shiny Pokemon to turn up. Players can hope that they find one since there is a chance of them finding one in 4096.

Masuda Method

This method was named after the person who revealed it, Junichi Masuda, a Pokemon developer. This method lets players breed a shiny Pokemon instead of searching for them in the tall grass.

So breeding them entails stats, moves and abilities that they want. This method was originally started so that one can trade between other country players. This method is introduced in Generation 4.

Two Pokemon that originate from different part of the world must be bred. This must be done until a shiny Pokemon has hatched. The possibility rate is 1 in 1365.3 in Generation 5 and lesser in Generation 6.

Though this method tests the patience of the player it works fine.

DexNav Chaining

The DexNav helps in finding shiny Pokemon. This method too needs players to have more patience and luck.

Players have to catch a shiny Pokemon so that it will show in DexNav. More amount of repels must be bought to avoid running into a wild Pokemon. An Encounter Rate with 30-40 will work better.

Once the chain is started, search for the shiny Pokemon. When players find one use repel and then stalk it. And once players encounter a shiny Pokemon, they have to either faint or catch it. But if they retreat then the chain will be reset.

Note: If players let the Pokemon run away then the Chain will be broken.

Every time players encounter Pokemon, their chance of encountering a shiny Pokemon will be up.

Chain Fishing Method

Players of Pokemon X and Y will remember this method, and this is one of the easiest methods to catch a shiny Pokemon.

Players must put a Pokemon that has the ability of Suction Cups to lead their party. This will enable players to catch one when they lay the cast.

However, if players are unable to catch a Pokemon with the rod or if they move from their place then the chain will break.

Shiny Charm

Shiny Charm will be received if player complete Nations Pokedex. This item will enable the rise of the encounter rate for players in their search for shiny Pokemon.

Locations of Mega Stones in New Video

Below is a new video uploaded by The Pokemon Company that acts as a guide to secret location and mega stones in Pokemon ORAS. With Mega Stones in players' kitty, players will be able to Mega Evolve some of the Pokemon.

The video showcases how easy it is to get partner Pokemon like Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott. The video also talks about how StreetPassing unlocks new Mirage Spot. It also shows the different kinds of minigames that players can play that will help them build the Secret Base, Gameranx reported.

Distribution Event

Players of the Pokemon ORAS will get three, Generation 5 Pokemon of Unova in January 2015, according to the new distribution event announced by the company. Out of the 3 Pokemon, Serperior and Emboar will be giving out through Serial Codes, which can be accessed by watch Pokemon Get TV and Samurott will be given via CoroCoro magazine. These Pokemon will have some hidden abilities, iDigitalTimes reported.

Serebii says that players will get Pokemon Serperior via Serial Codes on Pokemon Get TV. This will be revealed on 28 December 2014. They will be able to claim it between 9 January and 30 November 2015. Its moveset includes Leaf Storm, Hold Back, Wring Out and Giga Drain and feature the ability Contrary.

Emboar's Serial Codes will be unveiled on 11 January 2015 and players will be able to claim it between 16 January and 30 November 2015. Its moveset includes Flare Blitz, Hold Back, Head Smash and Take Down. Its hidden ability is Reckless.

Samurott will be only available for readers of the CoroCoro readers when it released on 15 January, 2015. The Serial Code for this will be good between 16 January and 30 November, 2015. Its moveset includes Razor Shell, Hold Back, Confide and Hydro Pump. Its hidden ability is Shell Armour.

For Players outside Japan

Though chances of getting these three for players who do not live in Japan are considerably low, the first two Pokemon will be distributed via Pokemon Get TV. If there can be an livestream of the event, then others too might get it. But if the code will be applicable only to the Japanese systems, it will be difficult.

Samurott is difficult since, it comes via CoroCoro magazine. So unless players have the subscription or can pick up from a news stand it will not be possible.
