New Delhi, Aug 15 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag at the historic Red Fort in Delhi on the prestigious occasion of 68th Independence Day. After receiving the guard of honour, PM Modi reached the central court of Red Fort to unfurl the national flag. Modi walked the red carpet to reach central court as thousands of people waited for the sight. Senior leaders and ministers were also present at the auspicious event. The prime minister also paid homage to the martyrs at the Rajghat. Modi will now address the nation from the historic Red Fort as the Prime Minister for the first time. The level of expectation is extremely high owing to Modi’s excellent oratory skills. India got its independence from the British colonial rule in 1947.
