Aamir Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer "PK" ("Peekay") has now become the highest earning Indian movie ever at the overseas box office. The movie, which was earlier declared as an all time blockbuster hit in India, has now gained the status in overseas markets as well.

According to industry analyst Taran Adarsh, Aamir Khan's "PK" has made $28.1 million (₹ 178.34 Crora) worldeide, making the film the highest grossing Indian movie in the overseas market.

"PK," which hit theatres on 19 December, 2014, enjoyed fantastic opening at the box office. Positive word of mouth helped the film sustain its business and make huge collections at the box office.

Meanwhile, the film was released in China only on 22 May, 2015 has received overwhelming response and has now emerged as a winner. The film has made a total of $ 1.47 million (₹ 9.33 crore) from 4,600 screens.

"PK" is Aamir's third film that has received such repsone at the Chinese box office, after "3 Idiots" and "Dhoom 3". "Dhoom 3" had brokes the record of Chinese film "No Zuo No Die" and had managed to find its space in China's top 10 list.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, "PK" is a comedy drama in which Aamir Khan plays the role of an alien and Anushka appears as a television reporter. The film also has Sushant Singh Rajput, Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, and Saurab Shukla in pivotal roles. Ranbir Kapoor makes a special appearance in the satirical comedy drama.

The film's cinematography is handled by CK Muraleedharan and editing by Rajkumar Hirani. The Aamir starrer is produced by Vinod Chopra Films and Rajkumar Hirani Films.
