People pierce their eyes and cut their tongues in a Muslim ritual known as 'Rafai Silsila.' The ritual is performed to commemorate the 9th Urs or death anniversary of the late Rafai Papa Miyan Sai at the Shah-E-Alam Dargah shrine in Ahmedabad.
