PM Narendra Modi landed in Chennai, welcomed by EPS and OPS The 94-year-old political leader passed away on August 7 after the prolonged illness. He will be accorded with the state funeral later in the day. However, the place of his burial has not yet been confirmed. Soon after Karunanidhi's demise, many political leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi and chief ministers of various states expressed their deep grief and extended their condolences to the bereaved family.
