Chitrangada says, "Firstly when I read the book and then I read the script, i felt whether i do it or anyone else it is an important story that needs to be told. Tikli's character is extremely challenging, she is adorable, but she is irritating. She is a messenger for me, carrying a particular message in her ideologies.

Most of the people don’t want to come out they're in denial but Tikli is not, she is very clear about the message she wants to give. After each audition i went closer to the character, that helped me to get into Tikli’s skill set. After the audition, i decided to live being Tikli whether i get the role or not. And now i’ve got it i'm going to have a beautiful and challenging experience on the set."
