Rajinikanth's Petta hit by piracy.Screen Shot from the teaser

Rajinikanth and Simran's Petta has opened to fairly positive reviews from the critics. Although the movie does not have anything fresh to offer, the superstar's vintage styles have connected well with the audience, which has come as a good sign for the film to set the box office on fire. However, the Tamil flick has been hit by piracy which is expected to take a toll on its business to some extent.

Petta is a mass-masala film directed by Karthik Subbaraj. He has written a decent story with a lot of references to Rajini's previous films. The audience and critics have declared it to be a pure commercial entertainer which is a must-watch flick for the hardcore superstar fans.

Piracy:
Hours after Petta released in foreign countries, the full movie with different qualities has hit the torrent sites and notably notorious on Tamil Rockers. Although there were online fans' clubs, which had requested people not to encourage piracy and tried to prevent the movie from being leaked online, their efforts went in vain as the illegal copies made it to the internet.

Rajinikanth's recent movie 2.0 was also hit by piracy despite the anti-piracy cell of the Tamil Film Producers' Council working round the clock to remove the illegal links from the internet.

Under the leadership of Vishal, President of Tamil Film Producers' Council and Secretary of Nadigar Sangam, the anti-piracy cell in Kollywood has taken proactive measures and has brought down many websites and domains of notorious Tamil Rockers, yet the piracy has continued to exist.
