Ludhiana, Oct 26 (ANI): A cancer awareness walkathon was organised in Ludhiana on Sunday to encourage people to undertake timely medical check-up to ascertain early detection of the disease. The walkathon, in its second year, is an initiative of a non-governmental organisation, Can Fight Cancer (CFC). Over 1000 people walked nearly 2.5 kilometres to show solidarity with cancer patients, cancer survivors, caregivers and medical professionals, who were also present among the crowd to make the event a success. Musical performances also enthralled the participants and caught the attention of more people. A member of CFC, Tarun Nayyar, said it is imperative to make people aware that cancer is curable.
