Vanessa's relationship with Dr Sweet is progressing and she seems to be happy about it. But viewers of Showtime's "Penny Dreadful" know the true identity of the zoologist, and it is guaranteed that their relationship is going to spell trouble for Eva Green's character.

The previous episode saw Dr Sweet, also known as Dracula, taking Vanessa to the hall of mirrors and when they got separated, his minion came up and told Vanessa that she had met his master in "the white room, long ago, where there was no time." This resulted in Vanessa forcing Dr Seward to hypnotise her so that she could recollect the faces of people she met during her time at the Banning Clinic. And towards the end of the episode, it was revealed that it wasn't Alexander she had met before, but the Creature.

The next episode will see Dr Seward and Vanessa delving more into her past. The official synopsis for the episode, via Spoiler TV, simply states that "Vanessa convinces Dr. Seward to use hypnosis to take her back in time."

Meanwhile, actress Green recently opened up to Dispatch about what's in store for Vanessa and how it feels to play a repressed character from Victorian England. ''I love playing a character from those repressed times who is so nonconformist, it's very jubilating,'' Green said. ''Being possessed, sometimes, it's very freeing.''

"I love all that! I prefer doing it to light stuff. There is something very physical about it, which is fun. But it's true that it's really intense, like a drug or a sport. Sometimes, after shooting, I go home and lie on the sofa with a glass of red wine and can't move."

As for what's in store for Vanessa and Dr Sweet, Green did not elaborate, but said that it's a "Penny Dreadful" kind of relationship. "Vanessa has lost her faith, but deep down there is a longing. She met Dr. Sweet (a zoologist) in the first episode, and she will fall in love, but it's weird. It's a ''Penny Dreadful'' kind of relationship, what can I say?"

"Penny Dreadful" is aired Sundays on Showtime.
