The trailer of Peddi, featuring Telugu star Ram Charan and Bollywood actor Janhvi Kapoor, was dropped on Monday evening, as the crew flew down from Hyderabad to Mumbai for the launch.
The film highlights rural sports and how a hardworking and ambitious athlete strives hard and against all odds, pursues his dream. The film is centred around a character named Peddi, who is a cricketer, a wrestler and a runner.
The protagonist, Peddi (played by Ram Charan), is a multi-talented athlete who earns his livelihood through sheer physical might. He is loved by children and respected by villagers, but his rapid rise and passion draw envy, especially from a landlord and fellow villagers whose pride refuses to share the spotlight.
The film looks massy and packed with high-adrenaline-rush action. Most of the fights are seen around railway platforms with gravity-defying stunts. The trailer feels raw, rooted and rustic. Ram Charan's transformation looks fiercely athletic, with mud-wrestling fights and dancing with long tresses and a darker skin tone to match the tanned look.

He has also aced his dancing skills for the film. Most of Ram's shots are raw and rustic, with him appearing shirtless on the field. Janhvi Kapoor doesn't have much to do in the trailer and appears to have a typical heroine role. Ram's star power clearly overshadows Janhvi's limited screen time.
After Ram, it is Divyendu Sharma who steals the show in the trailer, while Boman Irani also leaves a mark. There is also a blink-and-miss glimpse of Kannada star Shiva Rajkumar in the trailer, along with Ravi Kishan.

Director Buchi Babu Sana, who took to his X timeline to share the link to the trailer, wrote, "His arena. His rules. His game begins now. #PEDDITrailer OUT NOW. #PEDDI in cinemas worldwide on 4th June. #GetReadyForPeddi."
A netizen tweeted, "#Peddi is another typical south masala movie which will work on Day 1 but will fall flat on Monday. #PeddiTrailer is disappointing. The whole trailer went into aura farming of #RamCharan, but the sad thing is Ram Charan is the only good thing in this trailer. Too much screaming, dust, and over-the-top action blocks with no sense. Fans deserve better than this, Ram Charan deserves better than this. Have genuine hope from the movie.."
Another X user wrote, "Peddi Trailer Released #JhanviKapoor Performance & @NimmaShivanna KADAKK Entry @AlwaysRamCharan This Time Blockbuster Fix Trailer is very good. Content speaks (sic)."
